On Ai-Petri practically permanently a wind blows. It is essential attribute Ai-Petri plateau. Gradually wind became the ninth member of ours QRP - expedition. Therefore I want in the story to stop on him.

Our shelter was in a hole, where the wind was not felt. But it was necessary to depart on hundred meters in any of the sides from shelter, as at once we fell under a wind. I already wrote about wind - electrostation, which was constructed on Bedene - Kyr mountain before the second world war. This wind - electrostation has not given power. After the termination of ww-II it gradually has collapsed. Now only ruins remind of its former existence.

In present time also have decided to construct wind-electrostation on Ai-Petri. On a crimp of plateau, at the altitude 1200 meters above sea level was installed in 1988 wind-electrostation. It was made in Holland, in the country where give a large value to wind power engineering development. But, the plateau does not want to supply the people with the electric power. At installation the wind-electrostation with the help of the helicopter one of propeller wing of the wind station was broke off. Other propeller wings have removed, as they could reduce in a jitter and structural failure wind-electrostation.

Perestroyka, then and at all disorder of the Soviet Soyuz then began. Now in Republic of Crimea there is no money to restoring the wind-electrostation. So now the wind - electrostation stayed as any unearthly fantastic object. Will be very insulting if this wind-electrostation will be comprehended the destiny as that, constructed up to ww-II and in due course it will be destroyed. It would be wonderful if this wind-electrostation have completed, and its vast wings were twisted under Ai-Petri winds and will give the electric power to the man.

Other development of winds on Ai-Petri is the peculiar aspect of trees, which grow there. Generally, when now see bald, treeless plateau surface, it is difficult to believe that 200-300 years back plateau was covered a dense woods. From Crimea ship woods was build Russian Sevastopol flot, which participat in the Crimean war 1853-1856 years. But the time went, and with mastering of Crimea coast the wood were deleted.

On the plateau manufactured arboreal coal from these secular woods. From the woods built sea ships, house at sea coast. Near our shelter the ancient road is. It passes till the plateau and goes out to an abyss above coast. Earlier wood carried on this and droped it in the abyss to coast. The trees droped directly about other road, which already went along coast. So our grandparents have troubleshot with transportation of a wood from plateau downwards to coast. And till now this road transiting along plateau. Earlier this road passed among woods, now it goes on naked plateau. So the man changes the nature around of itself and abandons after itself on the Earth desert.

Now it is incredibly difficult to restore an initial aspect of woods on plateau, it can occupy not one hundred years. For this purpose owe bring up trees, under which guard other, stronger trees would grow and so on. In result the revival of former wood arrays is possible which covered by the plateau earlier. But presently nobody in these is engaged, and restoring of wood as itself very not prime matter, and probably impossible. When the woods on plateau were cut down, of strongest wind have blown off prolific stratum of soil from the plateau and only naked stones remain. Now should pass many centuries, and can be and thousands years, that on plateau the prolific stratum of ground has revived, on which the trees can grow.

It is necessary to note, that in ancient Rome and ancient Greek expositions of the nature of Crimea is described, that the peninsula was covered with large woods, in which the bears, tigers and lion were lived. Other "triviality" - mooses, deers, the wolves - were considered as usual Crimean animals. In ancient Rome and ancient Greek place titles existing in Crimea, nickname "bear", "lion", "tiger" till now are mentioned. But with mastering of Crimea by the people and cutting down of the wood the tigers and lion faded gradually. Approximately they have vanished to the beginning of X century. Then to middle of 19 centuries - time of intensive mastering of Crimea have vanished bears. Presently, to 60- years of 20 centuries were exterminated the Crimean wolves, which represented unique aspect of predators. With vanishing of woods the beasts have no place to live near to the man.

On the plateau the small groves of the Crimean pine are, which tops for all trees of this grove are broken off. A strongest wind permanently blowing on the plateau, break off tops of trees. And grove of trees with the broken off tops stay on the plateau, reminding any fancy landscape. On the plateau a wind with rate up to 50 m\s - 180 kilometers per hour are usual matter! A Crimean pine exotic low heigh with the tops, broken off by strong wind grows there. Stranger show is represented a single trees. As the winds have a usually defined direction, branch of trees are directional to one side. And these trees - feathers stayed, pointing to dominant wind direction in the given district.

The winds in winter period are especially strong, where they practically always reach the maximum value. At this time from meteorological station building, which abjoints from a site with meteorologic gears, about 50 meters stretch ropes, along which service of the meteorological station goes. Though on many meteorologic gears the electronic pickups was stayed, but all the same they go out of operation, especially in winter. Therefore it is necessary to personal to do private monitoring for meteorologic gears.

The presence of winds on the plateau has reduced that all buildings on Ai-Petri stay on those places, on which they were constructed many years back. Simply on plateau there are no others defended from a wind places for new buildings construction. The meteorological station was constructed at the end of 19 centuries, officially in the documents it is mentioned as official meteopoint in 1895. But the meteorological station existed long before this period, there are items of information, that since 1860 the weather reports from plateau transmited in Yalta. Since then (since 1895) the meteorological station building only a little has varied and outwardly us have reached practically by such, what it was hundred years back.

In place of our shelter 100 years back placed tavern "WELCOM!". In the tavern there were 4 rooms for rest of travellers. It is surprising, but the shelter building is both on the dimension and on the amount of rooms for the tourists practically similar to the old tavern! Building tavern, as to us the host of the shelter told, has burned down during ww-II. The shelter was constructed in tavern place in 1950, later to the shelter building have attached restaurant, which is approximately twice more on the dimensions of our shelter.
