One of directions of our operation was usage CB link from Ai-Petri. In most countries of the World the power of CB-radio Sets officially restricted to 5-10 watts, so it is possible to consider operation on CB-range as QRP-operation. CB radio set together with self-made matching device was installed per the first day of our expedition and all time stood in work.

So, that is audible in mountains on CB. In view of absence of interferences from the part of electrical equipment and from the part of nearest powerful CB radio sets, CB reception in mountains is very clear. We fine heard many services, which use CB range as a radiophone. It is the taxi drivers and merchants of Yalta. "Service" stations of other cities of Ukraine often were audible. It was possible to identify from them only Odessa stations on characteristic Odessa accent and on titles of streets of Odessa.

We permanently monitored 19-20-21 channel of grid "A". These channels are used for holding DX-CB QSO. On these channels the QSO's with Southern Ural, with Krasnodar territory were conducted. The fan of CB-radio on Ai-Petri plateau was unexpectedly found. In mountain ski club, which was in an addition building about our shelter, a CB-radio Set for link with Yalta and with the skiers was installed. But as has appeared, by this winter the antenna of this radio set by winds was broken. We have consulted the chief of ski basis how to connect to his CB radio set and to tune on 27 MHz range a written-off ship antenna. By its construction - metal rod, rolling by glass fiber, this antenna quite should maintain forthcoming winter. Let's wait in CB-ether station from Ai-Petri!

The propagation on CB on Ai-Petri also was strongly subject to Ai-Petri effect. It was coupled that for our CB antenna matching device with the transceiver the resonance circuit was used, in which the high-Q circuit was used. The variation of antenna parameters, certainly, reduced in variation of parameters of a resonance circuit and to significant variation of antenna current.

Sometimes in receptive period the force of CB-radio signals varied from S0 up to S9 within one minute. When I went out location of our asylum, I saw, how cloud were covered our antenna and then it was carried away by a wind.

On CB range on Ai-Petri many Italian stations were audible. But they for unknown for me reason ignored calls in English, though, by everything, signals of our CB- radio set was audible in Italy. Were audible Russian speaking CB-station from Germanium. They conducted among themselves "round table", but to make QSO with them I could not. It seems for me, when watching for CB stations operation, that many CB fans strongly "torque" the squelsh. When they give a call, and they are called other powerful CB station, my signal on a background by this CB station is audible. After the CB radio holding QSO with this powerful station, I call the CB station, but, alas, me again do not hear. It is necessary again to join of to powerful station, and my station is again audible on it background!

It is a pity, that I had no SSB in my CB radio set. On SSB the correctness of CB operators is much higher, and the practical SSB power is higher, than FM. Though, however, you can about it with me and argue� But, all the same, I consider, that all my experiments on CB on Ai-Petri were very interesting.
