In second half of day of May 4 the part of our command has departed to travel on Ai-Petri plateau. As, the purpose of our QRP-expedition on Ai-Petri was not only QRP-operation, but also tourism. Therefore we recognized schedule to examine remarkables of the plateau. Also all of us still recognized schedule, that it will be possible to put tent and to work from tent on self-made QRP-transceivers. As the large store of battery powers for HF -QRP of transceivers was taken, there was a possibility of boost charge of accumulators for R-108. Our VHF-radio were provided accumulators, charger for these accumulators, which was taken with itself by Nickolai UA3WX.

During our first trip we closely came to Ai-Petri mountain, but because of an approaching bad weather could not mount on an observation desk, which is disposed practically at one altitude with peak Ai-Petri. But we have examined cave "Pyramid", which is disposed on a plateau near to peak Ai-Petri. In this cave we have waited strong rain.

How much time I was in cave, so much time I was be surprised to their peculiar underground beauty! On Ai-Petri plateau is included 302 caves! In that place, where we were, many cave are artificially enclosed. It is made that the unexperienced tourists first, have not lost the way there, and in second have not damaged unique cave circumstances!

The host of our shelter Wladimir Romanovich in the evening has told to us about many opened cave, which were disposed near our disposition. But we did not descended in them. The descension in cave was not the purpose of ours QRP expedition, and the unexperienced man in cave can lose the way. Therefore, we have decided to leave cave to the cave explorers, and itself to occupy in QRP operation.

On Ai-Petri plateau permanently blow of a strong wind. Therefore earlier, per 30 years 20 centuries recognized schedule to construct on the plateau a web of wind - electrostation. But before the second world war was constructed only one wind - electrostation on mountain of Bedene-Kyr. Unfortunately, this wind - electrostation was not is final completed, and during the second world war was destroyed. Till now, on this mountain the ruins of this wind - electrostation stand. In ruins wind - electrostation we also recognized schedule to organize our second work place for operation on QRP from tent. Just in these ruins there was a possibility both to install antennas and to be defended from a strong wind. But, alas! The reality has appeared where more prosaic. On Bedene-Kyr mountain, near ruins wind - electrostation the vast dielectric shelters of military radars were is clear visible! Well, that, the radioamateur operation on QRP near to powerful radar stations would be simply impossible. And severe military could receive us with our radio sets for the spies. Therefore we had to leave this schedule.

Till now I continue to be surprised, how it is strong military of Crimea! Literally continually there are military parts, on coast the squads of the frontier guards go. From cave stand of a missile, under dielectric full-spheres the military antennas are hidden. Because of military the Crimeas were rather inconvenient for realizing tourist campaigns earlier. In many places of Crimea the stay of the tourists was forbidden. From above the Kyzyl-Oba cave generally there was a tank polygon, and in one of the trip we spent the night in one of funnels carst cave on this polygon wishing only one, that the military doctrines have not begun.

However, I again have distracted from exposition of our tourist travels till the plateau. But the bad weather has made us to return to our shelter.
